The area has a wide variety of rental housing options available including both market rate housing and income restricted. Market rate housing is any housing that has no rent restrictions and which is not restricted by affordable housing laws. Income restricted properties must follow prescribed rates and tenants must meet income eligibility requirements. In addition, if you fall within certain income guidelines, you may be eligible for rental assistance or a housing voucher. The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program can help you pay your rent if you are income eligible. Eligible families and individuals select their own rental units, and pay 30% to 40% of their adjusted gross income towards rent and utilities.
