Money Smart for Small Business

Training Modules

Money Smart for Small Business curriculum is designed for new or existing small business owners, and provides a practical introduction to many of the most important aspects of managing a business. Course descriptions and learning objectives for each course are specified below.

Each session is one hour or less in length and is offered as a stand-alone course, allowing you to pick and choose the sessions you wish. A workbook is provided as a companion to each recorded session, giving you with the ability to apply concepts to your own business.

The lead trainer for these sessions is Advance Thief River Director, Michelle Landsverk, who has had 20 years of experience in business consulting and training. She is a certified Core Four Business Planning trainer and former director of the Minnesota Women’s Business Center, where she trained, mentored, and consulted with business owners from across Northwest Minnesota. She has also owned a main street business and brings that experience with her to these sessions.

 

Banking Services

Learning objectives for this one-hour Money Smart for Small Business module are:

  • Identify the banking services commonly available to a small business and explain how these services work.
  • Identify the advantages and disadvantages of each of the banking services.
  • Explain how small business owners decide which banking services are best for their business.

A Forum hosted by Launch Minnesota to discuss topics and questions of the startup community.

An opportunity to learn and discuss the topics facing Minnesota’s startup community. We know many of you have questions, ideas and concerns regarding your business or organization. Launch Minnesota is bringing together individuals from the public and private sector to answer questions and provide support to our startup community.

We will host monthly calls on the 4th Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. The sessions will kick off with subject matter experts and updates, but time will be reserved for questions and discussion.
