Tonnabells Opens in Downtown Thief River Falls

Tonnabells opened for business in February, 2020 on Third Street in beautiful downtown Thief River Falls. This bright and cheerful shop features the work of several local, regional and Minnesota artists and craftsmen and women. Currently, the shop has a variety of wall art, glass, candles, wood, pottery, jewelry, locally-roasted coffee, and textiles. Owner, Kelly Thygeson, wants to feature local products because she is a firm believer in shopping local. She also has a limited number of larger furniture pieces for sale. Although the store looks full, things move quickly, so she is seeking the work of additional artists and craftsmen and women from the area.

Kelly is a long-time resident of Thief River Falls, and this isn’t her first business venture. For thirteen years, she worked at Quick Print, and was the owner for three of those years. For this latest venture, she knew she wanted to be downtown and when she was able to find a spot on third street, she moved quickly. She loves owning her own business. “I love the control and the flexibility, meeting people, and being downtown,” Kelly said. Tonnabells is a perfect fit for Kelly, who loves arts and crafts. “I love the colors, the designs, and the artists,” she said.
