This free training is designed for aspiring entrepreneurs, people in the early stages of launching a business, and anyone considering purchasing an existing business or franchise. It is also a helpful refresher for newer business owners who want to strengthen their planning and financial foundation.

Participants will learn how to:

• Evaluate their readiness for business ownership
• Develop a clear, useful business plan
• Research customers, competitors, and market opportunities
• Create an effective marketing strategy
• Estimate startup costs and ongoing expenses
• Build realistic cash-flow projections
• Explore funding options and prepare for conversations with lenders
• Choose a legal structure and register a business
• Understand tax IDs, licenses, permits, insurance, and business banking
• Create a practical checklist for launching successfully

You’ll also learn about the local, regional, and statewide resources available to support entrepreneurs. Bring your business idea, questions, and any planning materials you have. Whether your idea is brand new or already taking shape, Start-Up Smart will help you identify your next steps and move forward with greater confidence.
