Thief River area residents have access to high-quality education. The PreK-12 school system is one of the best around. Northland Community and Technical College faculty are nationally recognized. Both institutions work in close partnership with the business community to meet workforce needs.

Thief River Falls Public Schools

The public education system in Thief River Falls includes Challenger Elementary, Franklin Middle School and Lincoln High School. The district’s graduation rate is 8 percentage points higher than that of the state overall and 73% of Lincoln High School graduates are enrolled in an institution of higher education 16 months after finishing high school. St. Bernard’s Catholic School

St. Bernard’s Catholic School serves Thief River Falls and the surrounding area. They offer a faith-based quality education for students preschool through fifth grade. In addition to technology instruction, students in grades K – 5 receive Physical Education instruction three times a week in the city auditorium, and music instruction twice a week.

Goodridge Public School

The Goodridge School is housed in one building with a teaching staff of twenty, a support staff of eighteen, and 1.5 administrators. The district provides a preschool through grade twelve education. Small class sizes with individual attention are available to all students daily. A preschool program has been established for three and four-year-old students. Northland Community & Technical College

Northland Community and Technical College is a comprehensive college, offering many state-of-the-art, nationally-renowned technical programs designed for those looking to quickly join the work force.
