Rental Housing

Thief River Falls has many rental housing options including market rate housing and income restricted housing. Market rate housing has no rent restrictions and is not restricted by affordable housing laws. Income restricted properties must follow prescribed rates and tenants must meet income eligibility requirements. If you fall within certain income guidelines, you may be eligible for rental assistance or a housing voucher. If you have questions about income restricted housing, Section 8 housing, or subsidized apartments, call the Northwest Minnesota Multi-County Housing and Redevelopment Authority at 218-637-2431.

Rental Assistance

The Section 8 Rental Assistance Program can help you pay your rent if you are income eligible. Eligible families and individuals select their own rental units, and pay 30% to 40% of their adjusted gross income towards rent and utilities.
