Two Entrepreneurial Journeys, One Morning at TREK May 5 at 8:30 AM

On Tuesday, May 5 at 8:30 AM, TREK will feature two local entrepreneurs sharing their stories—each offering a unique perspective on starting and growing a business in Thief River Falls. Attendees will hear from Davis Engen, owner of Echo Healing, and Brenna Drevlow, founder of B Sew Cute, in a session that highlights both established and emerging entrepreneurship.

Together, their stories reflect the power of creativity, persistence, and community support in building something meaningful.

Building a Purpose-Driven Practice: Echo Healing

Davis Engen founded Echo Healing with the belief that wellness has a ripple effect—that positive change can extend far beyond a single moment. His journey into the wellness field began with a commitment to personal growth and evolved into a professional path centered on helping others.

Through training and hands-on experience, Davis developed a diverse set of massage therapy techniques, including deep tissue, Thai, and sports massage, along with services such as hot stone therapy and cupping. With the support of mentors and a focus on continuous learning, he has built a growing practice in Thief River Falls that emphasizes both physical and mental well-being.

At TREK, Davis will share insights into building a service-based business, staying focused through challenges, and creating a business rooted in purpose.

Turning Creativity into a Business: B Sew Cute

Brenna Drevlow represents the next generation of entrepreneurs. As a student at Lincoln High School, she recently launched her business, B Sew Cute, after being selected through the school’s “Prowler Tank” program—an initiative that gives students the opportunity to pitch business ideas and receive startup funding.

Her business features handmade and upcycled products, including custom hoodies, bowl cozies, mug rugs, keychains, and clothing items. Inspired by a lifelong interest in sewing and supported by mentors and local programs, Brenna has already begun building her brand through social media and local vendor events.

Through her experience, she has gained practical knowledge in areas such as business planning, product development, and basic startup requirements—laying the groundwork for future growth.

At TREK, Brenna will share what it’s like to start a business at a young age, what she’s learned through the process, and how community support has played a role in her journey.
